My greatest bargain yet!

So I was passing by a stall and something caught my eye. A beautiful Sisley khaki green coat. It fits like a glove and is in the best condition!

And the price...£4!! Now that's a bargain!

Looking forward to winter already.

My Little Treasures

I always try and have a quick look around at the other stalls when I'm selling, even though sometimes I get distracted and end up being away from my own stall for an hour!!

Vintage pattern umbrella £2
Beatles Abbey Road and War of the worlds Vinyls £1 each
Leather pink Jewellery box 50p
Michael Jackson Moonwalker book £1

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about any of the car boot fairs I've been too or the treasures I've brought.

How much have you made

When ever we do a family car boot sale there's always a competition of how much money everyone has made!! Today we were all selling me, Hugh, Mark, Mum and Dad. And we all did very well considering the unpredictable weather.

When we arrived at 7am the whole field was buzzing with lots of sellers and buyers! We quickly unpack what we had to sell (as buyers like to jump in your boot to see what you've got) and after a quick refuel with coffee and a bacon butty we were ready!

It's always best to start your prices high and gradually bring them down as the morning goes by to make sure you make a profit. But I'm always happy to be selling my un wanted clothes and to see them go to a good home.

Apart from a few showers and it being a bit windy (the rail fell down 3 times) the weather stayed true to the forecast, which gave the boot fair a nice flow of people.

I hope you enjoy the photos especially the one of my mum and the tiniest dog in the world! You always see lots of dogs at boot fairs in all shape and sizes.

Will be posting my treasures soon too.

The weekends are wonderful things

I hope you are enjoying the sunshine! I just hope it stays long enough in the sky for this Sunday as I am selling at Polegate boot fair with the family.

Everything that I didn't sell at Battersea boot fair back in May (plus more, it's always good to have a clear out once a month) I will be taking down to Polegate at the crack of dawn this Sunday! Look out for photos to follow.

I no longer work weekends (Yayyy) so I will be visiting lots more car boot fairs and markets to post my best treasures and of course lots of photos! :-)

Sunny Sunday

So after all this grey and miserable weather, we have sun coming our way for this coming weekend especially Sunday, which makes it a perfect day for hunting treasures at boot fairs!

Unfortunately I'm working my very last weekend at my job (start my new job on Monday and it's a Monday to Friday job which means weekends are all free to explore boot fairs and much more) But if you having nothing to do on Sunday then get out there to find some treasures. I hear that Battersea Boot fair has already sold out all their pitches which means it will be really busy!

Have fun! And look out for where I'm off to next the following weekend.

Car boot sale tip #3

If your lucky enough to be going to a boot fair this weekend (I'm going to Somerset to visit Hugh's dad, look out for a post about that later) and that the weather doesn't let you know, here's a little tip so that your ready to find your treasures!

If the boot fair is an early one and you don't fancy getting up at the crack up dawn, then go a little later because that's when the real bargains are found. Most sellers will not want to take their stuff that doesn't sell back home, so the last hour before the boot fair finishes the prices will drop which is the ultimate time to find a bargain!

So it's always worth to hang around till the end just in case. Have fun!

Love necklace £2 (charity shop)
Black leather clutch £2.50 (Polegate)
Black summer wedges £12 (Primark)

Total cost of outfit: £20.50

Now just for the sun to make an appearance.

Something a little different

Another big love of mine are gallery's and exhibitions and on Wednesday I was lucky enough to get invited to the preview of David Bailey's East End, shown in the Compressor House on Dockside Road E16. A beautiful space which shows Bailey's photographs that document the transformation of the east end. With some very rare and never before seen photographs, it's well worth a visit to witness just how much the East of London has changed since the 60's to the present day and where the world will be watching in 3 weeks time.

The gallery is open now until the 5 August 2012
Entry £6 (free for newham residents)
Nearest DLR Royal Albert
