Car boot sale tip #2

A tip for buying at car boot sales is be prepared to bargain with the seller for the best price, don't just settle with the price they give you, haggle with them! As that is where the fun is and where you can walk away with amazing bargains! Be reasonable though depending on the item and the seller will give you more respect and may even throw in a freebie :-)

The next one

Unfortunately I'm working this weekend :-( so my next outing will be the following weekend the 6th of May where this time I will be selling at a car boot sale with the family. I have a lot of stuff so it's always good to have a good clear out and make a few pennies. Until then I will be posting tips of how to find the best bargains and the best way of selling at a car boot sale.

Battersea Car Boot

This Sunday I hope to be going to the Battersea Park School Car Boot Sale. This is not just a boot sale it is so much more and was once a well kept secret. First Established in 1999 is now London's busiest boot sales, selling everything from designer goods, antiques, vintage and collectables.

Another great thing about this car boot sale is it is always on come rain or shine. So as long as its not heavy rain we will be going this Sunday.

Having been several times before its great to get there early. Sunday afternoon 12pm till 5pm. Entry from 12 pm is £3 and entry after 1.30pm is 50p. All the good stuff goes between 12 and 1.30pm!!!

To find out more information check out their website below, look out for my photos from Battersea and my little treasures :-)

The best bits of Polegate

Back to London this morning for work, hate how quickly the weekends go. Here is my review of Polegate and the sort of things you can find.

We got there about 7.30am which is a good time as then most of the stalls have had time to set up and had a coffee (meaning there not grouchy when you come rummaging through their stalls) Apart from it being very cold the sunshine helped and was very busy both sellers and buyers.

At this boot fair you really need to dig deep to find your treasures as they aren't always obvious to see. One of the main things they sell are vintage LP's which once going through boxes after boxes (as my boyfriend did) you can come across some great classics, we once found Michael Jackson Thriller for £2. They also had a lot of second hand dvds, unusual looking tools and baby clothes and toys. But there are also some great treasures to be found if your willing to look which is where the fun is! On previous visits I have found vintage clutches, gorgeous jewellery, unique mirrors and have picked up some great second hand and vintage clothing.

I give this car boot sale a 7 out of 10 and will always be returning as new people sell there all time, and is one that is close to my home town.

Look out for what car boot sale I will be going to this weekend, this time it's in London.

Car boot sale tip #1

Tomorrow's weather is looking good with no rain forecast so we are all good to go!

Here for the first tip for car boot sales, take lots of change. Most small items will be under £10 and some stalls won't have enough change to give you if you pay with a £20 note. So it's always good to be prepared and take coins with you.

Look out for photos from polegate tomorrow.

The first of many

This Sunday the boyfriend and I will be getting up very early to go to our first car boot sale of the year, the one and only mammoth boot fair in Polegate East Sussex. This one is near my home town Crowborough and one I've been going to since I was a child. The boot fair has been operating since 1988 and when the weather is good the fair is really good with over 100 stalls and lots of treasures to be found.Look out for pictures from the car boot sale and of our bargains of the day, until then please look at the website below for more information about the Polegate mammoth boot fair.
